Our next general meeting will be held on Sunday, February 17, 2019 at 1:30 p.m. at the St. Coletta Illinois Office, 1991 Hicks Road, Rolling Meadows, IL 60008.
The new year has started and you’ve had a chance to unwind after the holidays. Now it is time to look ahead. Ted Behncke will be coming down to give a general update and talk about 2019 priorities for the organization. We also want to have some discussion on legislative work that we can all do with the new state elected officials to improve overall funding for our folks. With the “state” of Illinois, we know this is all-important.
Last year was a good year and Illinois Friends was able to present St.Coletta with a check for $70,000. This was due to the unfailing support of our family members, friends and especially the dedication of those who worked on the event committees. Yes, life is busy and money is short, but we know it is necessary to help with the shortfalls that St. Coletta faces and to meet the many needs of our residents. We are already working on this year’s St. Coletta Golf Classic at Royal Melbourne Country Club. We also plan to have a “Day at the Races,” and, of course, our family picnic. If you would like to help out on any of these events, it is fun, satisfying, and a chance to socialize with some wonderful people. If you haven’t participated behind the scenes before, please consider dipping your toe into the water this year. Also, the board is open to new ideas and/or events.
Our Illinois residents and staff maintain a strong presence at St. Coletta because our parents meet regularly with St. Coletta’s leaders through our Board and General Meetings. We also have members on the St.Coletta of Wisconsin Board. Be sure to renew your membership and add your name to our membership list. We need to stay strong and united.
